10 Reasons Why You May Not Be Recruiting and Sponsoring Anyone

(Note:  These reasons are in no particular order) 

1.      You aren't really working.  Many people kid themselves into believing they are actually working when they really aren't.  The big question is, how many people have you talked to in the past week about your business?  Be honest with your answer.

2.      You aren't asking enough questions.  Start being more interested and more inquisitive.  Be genuine.  Focus on what they want.

3.      You're scared.  Perhaps you may be over-thinking and letting your head get in your own way.  Stop the mental spin.  Just take action.

4.      You're focused on the wrong thing.  People do this all the time.  They focus on themselves rather on what they can do for others.  Change your focus and change your results.

5.       You're too timid and worried about what they think.  Stop worrying about what others think.  Just do.  Maintain control.  Own it.  You have the deal.  Act like it. 

6.      You aren't finishing.  Don't be one of those people who start the process and not end it.  Your prospect is HOPING you call them back...at least the good ones are.  Don't be a ball-dropper.  Follow up.

7.      You don't have the best deal on the planet, so stop saying you do.  No matter how good your company, comp plan or product is, STOP saying "We're the Greatest!"  Put your feet back on the ground and take a breath of reality.  It's fine to have a good product, comp plan, etc. without having to LIE and say you are the best thing since sliced bread.  Nothing screams scam more than hype. 

8.      You don't believe.  This one kills tons of people.  You either don't believe you're worth it or that you aren't capable.  You are!  You ARE worth it.  And...you ARE capable.  Stop the negative flow of energy.  It isn't serving you.

9.        You aren't listening.  Start listening to your leaders, the ones who are REALLY producing and STOP reinventing the wheel because you think you are cool or good.  Make your first 10k a month their way and if you wanna go screw it up after that, you're free.

10.  You're scattered.  Focus on one company. Big produces don't do multiple deals, so why should you.

Most of the world has been "Twitter-ized"  getting short 120 character spits of info...if you can't catch someone's attention in 10 seconds...you won't get them at all!  
SHORT emails are best!

THE FORTUNE IS IN THE FOLLOW-UP....

Q: How do I follow up with prospects who have become "free-loaders"?

A: I believe that it is always good to speak to them by phone, because in this way they get to know you better.  People usually like to get acquainted  with those they will be working with in a business.  From what I have learned in several decades of sales, it usually takes anywhere from 5 to 7 contacts with the same person to get a new sale.  And of course that number of contacts is depending on whether this is someone you already know,  (your warm market) vs. someone you don't know personally, a (cold market) contact. That is the reason for the title of this post, "THE FORTUNE IS IN THE FOLLOW-UP..." 

Here is a YouTube Video Webinar Training with Coach Van and Russ Medlin in Las Vegas.  The very first question on this Q and A format is "How do I follow-up with my "free-loaders"?"  And Russ answers it excellently!    Please listen to his sage advice.

The one point of Russ' advice that made a lot of sense to me:  "Use The Tools!"    "Three-way" your prospect in on the free overview call (14 minutes) that is available:  (303) 747 -5108  if you have not listened to it, please do so you know what your prospect is going to hear.  As Russ says, even though it is his voice on the recorded call, he three-ways his prospects on to that call because if they join TFT using that method, they will use that same method to share it with their prospects.  These TOOLS are available for duplication.  You want your people to be successful so you want to let your people know that they don't have to become an expert presenter...don't try to explain everything to them.   "USE THE TOOLS!"   Then they will learn that they can use the tools, and be successful, too.  :-)

I learn something NEW every day...usually from Andy Brock. (I'm so glad that he joined our  TEAM!  I'm telling you true...get off your backsides and tell all the younger people you know 16 through 29 who know how to use all these social networking gadgets like: smart-phones,  facebook, twitter, youtube, etc.  They can teach you tonnes of cool stuff that will increase your traffic.   And even though I'm sure for most of us, it is about helping people, TFT is a business and so it is a numbers game.  The more people you tell, the more people will look at what your telling them about.  The more who see what TFT is about, the more will like TFT and join. 

OKAY, here's what Andy showed me today.  If you have a lengthy cumbersome URL that is hard to put on Twitter, because they limit you to only a 140 characters per post, go to this google url shortener website:  http://goo.gl/    Just do what it tells you and your  long character URL becomes a short one.

Justin Jones TFT Marketing Dept tells what to do in your first 96 hours...

I believe Justin's step by step advice is right on target,  if you want to get your TFT business off an running at a good clip.  To me,  That Free Thing is a friend to friend, belly to belly business.  You have to use the system to get some good stuff, which you are excited about, and then tell others about what you found.  People can tell if you believe it or not.

 

I guess it would be nice if you could just send out a hundred email letters and have a 20% response.  The true reality with email is that only 20% will even be opened...and 80% will fall in spam filters, or not opened and deleted.  So if you sent out a thousand email only 200 would be opened and if you got a 2% response rate, which is considered good in the industry, you might see 4 responses...not sign ups, just free loaders.  So do yourself a favor and look over what Justin is advising us to do to get the word out. 

 

And as Sir Winston says, "NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER EVER GIVE UP!   

 

 What I have found is that you have to tell "your story" about TFT to your friends or share some of the cool stuff you received with them...and then give them a link to your site.  That's what I mean about a "belly to belly" business.  If you just send out email and expect a big response you will be disappointed and frustrated, and probably quit.  

 

People hear hype all day long, and they don't believe it.  Just like us in Missouri the "Show Me" State, you gotta show me! So show your friends, personally what you have found and some will see it as you do, and  some won't.  That's okay.  As the old saying I've heard in this business for years not to take your response rate personally, it's really just a numbers game.   ("SW, SW, SW, NEXT, Because SW!"

Sometimes you will not be able to join these live "Go To Meeting" Webinars, due to work or other scheduling conflicts.  Not to worry, you can watch and listen to them at your convenience right here on this training blog or in your back office suite.   As rapidly as That Free Thing is growing and with so manynew tools being added to the mix almost daily,  I would strongly encourage you to watch some of these webinars as soon as you can, so you can either get up to speed or stay caught up if you don't know what's been happening lately.

     The beauty of owning your own Network Marketing business is that you do have complete control of what your personal success outcomes will be and you don't have to go it alone.  On a good TEAM every member wants you to play your best and succeed and they are all encouraging you to win, because you win as a team.  That is exactly what I would like to create on our rapidly growing TEAM with That Free Thing.  A culture, if you will,  of seeing how we can all help others succeed, growing their business as big as they can dream while expanding our ability to dream even bigger.   Success will breed more success!



    Sometimes on your JOB, you realize that there is only so much room for advancement, (a glass ceiling, so to speak) and should you just happen to work for a "family-owned" business and you don't have that family's last name and you have no desire to marry into that family, you are just S.O.L. when it comes to upward mobility.   In reality with most given company structures, there can only be so many chiefs or managers.   
     You personally might have even been trying to achieve a better position and larger income, but were not chosen for one of those higher positions.  That can be bittersweet when you watch others being promoted whom you might have trained, even people with less talent than you, gaining economic advantage because maybe they knew how to play the work-place "political games"... (we used to call it "brown-nosing" or "teacher's pet" in school.) 
 
      Astonishingly, a Network Marketing company can actually be less of a Pyramid than most other corporate structures you have probably worked in.  (SEE THE Cute little CARTOON AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE)   Here in That Free Thing, we can help everyone around us to succeed because there is no limit to the room at the top. The very structure of Network Marketing encourages you personally to gain by helping others gain. The Matching Bonus Checks of 40%, 30% and 30% on your first, second, and third generations will blow you away once you understand the power that is in that one segment of the commission plan.
Zig Ziglar, a great sales motivational speaker wrote in his book, The Art of the Close;  " You can get everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want."     Jesus spoke about this same basic structure of reality 2000 years before  when he said,  "If you want to be great in God's Kingdom, you must learn to be the servant of all."    From Mark 10.41-45 The Message

There's an old saying;
"TEAM WORK makes the DREAM WORK."  
This is the straight skinny...gospel truth (straight and narrow).  We were never created to be the Lone Ranger.  And even though he was called the LONE Ranger, even he had a sidekick, Tonto, his faithful friend.  He also had a horse that he could always count on, and I'm sure that the Lone Ranger wouldn't have gotten anywhere without Silver...or at least he would have moved much slower on foot.  :-) 

That is why I'm working diligently building systems, like this Blog, to help train all our new team members that will come aboard That Free Thing.   Feel free to come back often and also share this with all your new members so they can read the archives of what has been published for the sole purpose to encourage and help them to the success that they are looking to achieve.  

Not everyone who will join you wants, nor can they believe right now, that they could build their own That Free Thing business to be earning over $5,000 per month in the first 12 months.  That's Okay.  What can they believe for right now?    If it is just an extra $100 to $500 a month, which would really help many people in the economic times we're in right now.  That extra income could help them put gas in their car so they can keep commuting to their jobs.   (That is only $25 to $125 a week more and very doable.)

We can teach your team members to achieve that, and then they will perceive that they can earn even more.   "Your perspective is directly influenced by your current vantage point." 
That is why it is so important to learn from these team building  leaders from all over the world, as their perspective is at a much higher point and what they share can be eye-opening and change your perspective along with your team.  As you listen to what Simon has to share, you may start thinking; " Hey, if he can do this, why not me? Dog-gone-it, I believe that I can do this, too!"  :-)

Two Good Training videos from TFT members posted on YouTube...

I was just chatting with Andy Brock on Skype tonight after he sent me a video on Facebook that he discovered on YouTube.    Isn't that a weird sentence?  Skype, Facebook, and YouTube used in just one sentence.  Which just goes to show the tip of the iceberg of the power of Social Networking and the new internet technologies to help you connect with others to get information out to the world as fast as you can create it.  Do you see the potential here to reach the world with any message?   Guess what?  Most young people are not checking emails on a PC anymore, that info comes to them by TEXT on their smart phones.

Well the future is already here, so instead of cursing what you don't know, I say embrace it, and learn as much as you can as fast as you can, to get the word out.  (Good thing you are not in my office while I'm trying to learn how to blog and embed videos and they won't go where you want them to go!  ... Dang!  :-? )

During this latest Go to Meeting Webinar, I was impressed to remember that TFT is still in PRE-LAUNCH. Pre-launch is like a shake down cruise or sea trials when a brand new ship is taken out for a real ocean run to see what is loose and needs tightening, or what might still be needed when you are out in the deep water.  Until you test all the systems out, you just really don't know how or if it will work under pressure until it is tried and tested while at sea. At least this is how I see a Pre-launch phase of most of the marketing companies I have been involved with in the past.  

TFT is one of the smoothest Pre-Launches I've ever been in.  (I could tell you horror tales of woe from pre-computer days when we had to enroll using fax machines and had hundreds of orphaned reps who didn't know who they signed up under...and hours of wasted effort...what a mess!)  I'm so glad that we are past that old tech!  The "good old days" weren't all that great.   

(Many of those on the leader's board enrolled during the leader's launch which pre-dated our actual Pre-Launch on March 1st by about 10 days, actually I came on board on 02-22-2011, right after I received Cathy's email. If I had not already had a good working relationship with her and Seth back in 2007, it would have taken me longer to warm up to the idea.  More on that later...)

There  are so many new tools that TFT will make available to us soon, that I can hardly wait.
What you see right now will be so much better in the next 60 days.  Russ Medlin spoke about his goal to see TFT grow to over 100K members in the first 6 months.  He was encouraged to see that in our first month we are very close to 15,000 members.  He believes that we can reach 25,000 members by our 2nd full month, and in our first 90 days we can be at 60,000 members.  At least these are his projections. 

One of the new improvements that I'm really wanting ASAP is our Spanish Language Marketing site.  They will be announcing it to us all shortly...so if you know people whose primary language is Spanish, get your list made up to send them a link to your Spanish Marketing site, the day it becomes available.

Seth Fraser's book "Legal Thief" is now available in all member's back offices to down load for FREE!  I just read the first chapter and it is well written.

Okay, the best thing I can encourage you to do is to get plugged in, check the free offers daily, get the ones you like, use the tools and give someone you're marketing website so they can look at this, too.  You have to TELL SOMEBODY so they know what you're doing.

There is a learning curve for everything we do.  Just like TFT and just like writing a blog...I want to be further along in both, but at least I'm no longer tied up to the dock and I've set sail out of the harbor.  Ships were not meant to float aimlessly in a harbor, cast your anchor and set sail...let's see how far we can go with this.  Are you in?

Get to know our up line support team, Cathy Foster.

I received this email from my friend and mentor in networking, Cathy Foster.  She is our upline support team, since we are so close to the top of That Free Thing, Cathy is our only "go between" between us and TFT.  Which is really good, as she knows Seth Frasier personally, and  they both live in Colorado she has worked tirelessly together during the first launch of Freebie Force. So if we have a problem, we can get it before those who can fix it FAST!

Freebie Force was the first time that Seth used his concept of giving out FREE Stuff to build a network of avid fans back in 2007. You might not have heard about all that, because in the  first 18 to 24 months, FF was plagued by computer problems and programming faux pauxs which caused its demise.  Now that Seth has partnered up with Matt G. who is the computer guru of TFT, I'm really encouraged to know we are 100% ready to make That Free Thing into a "household name" world-wide! 

[ Did you know that Groupon has 43,000,000 members (yeah 43 MILLION) and they don't give away "Free Stuff" they give away "Discounted Stuff"  Just imagine being able to tap into a worldwide network of free products and services and get paid for doing it! ]  

Working with Cathy is a joy because she understands what it takes to succeed and is very helpful. I have grown to like and trust her and it is so refreshing to meet someone in this industry who tells you the truth.  (Like Mark Twain wrote: "If you're going to be a liar you better have a damn good memory." )  Maybe when you have 7 kids, you just don't have the memory to make up stories.

Well, her story follows:                                                                  

" I am a wife, mother of 7, including 17 yr. old quadruplets.  I have made 6 figures several times over in this industry while working from home, from the soccer fields, the BB games, the dance studios, walking along the beach in Maui and boarding many rides in Disneyland.  My husband who is a Chiropractor always says, "When we go on vacation, you are still getting paid."  When he leaves his office, he does not get paid, which is typical for most of us that work a J. O. B.   

[ J.O.B. = "Just Over Broke."   Also realize that those who are self-employed business owners can be owned by that business with no family time or vacations,  being  shackled to the "time-grindstone", too.  That includes Doctors, Lawyers, and other Professionals we think are set for life. Have you heard of the high cost of malpractice insurance?  It sucks profits away.  Don't prejudge that a Professional person wouldn't be interested, tell EVERYONE your story about "That Free Thing"!   ~ReL :-) ]

For those that say, "I would like to make money working from home but I just don't have the time."  WRONG ANSWER TO THE WRONG PERSON!   First, you need to want it, to REALLY want it, to have that burning-yearning desire.  Then you need to find something that you believe in, that you are passionate about. Next, tell others about it.  When you genuinely believe something, it's comfortable to tell others; you can't WAIT to share something good with them!  When you go to a good movie, you tell your friends because you want them to experience the great time you had too.  The movie theatre doesn't call you and say, "Hey, Bob, thanks for referring Maddy and Paul last night, we'd like to give you $1.00 for telling them to come by."  If you read a fabulous book, you tell others, the publisher doesn't call you and give you a bonus for your friends that picked up the book too. (unfortunately)

I am excited about THAT FREE THING.  It's fun, it's easy, it's fresh and exciting.  Someone called me today that I enrolled and they saw their payout was $193.00 and part of me doesn't want to say this but they only sponsored one person and that was his wife!!!  She has earned as of today $109.00 and she has not sponsored anyone!  I am not telling you this to go tell everyone that if they get in, they will make those amounts too because there are some others that haven't made anything.............yet!  I'm sharing this with you because we are JUST getting started!  We have 12,000 members in a little over 2 weeks, this is worldwide and the world doesn't know!

I am also very proud of the owners who are doing the most amazing job at keeping up with these 12,000 people and all the Freebies, and new additions they keep adding and we haven't even tapped into what's to come.

O.k. Randall, enough rambling from me but I couldn't resist!  I guess the old.... "Do what you love and the money will follow" really means something, hey? "  



Cathy and Dr. Steve Foster

I want to thank Cathy for putting herself out there to help us all build our vision of TFT, and also to Steve for allowing us so much access to his wife.  We raised 5 kids but had no multiple births, so I can hardly fathom what must have been the routine at their home with Quads!  Can you imagine having four 17 year olds at one time?  And she still finds time to help us out when we call for help.     Today is a good example:

One of my team members from Tennessee wondered if he could change his USER NAME.  When he signed up, he didn't realize that this USER NAME was the name that his website would be called for all the world to see.  For marketing purposes he wanted to change it. 

 I didn't know if that was possible so I conferenced called into Cathy.  She happened to be on directly with co-owner,  Seth Fraiser using Skype.  We had our answer in just one minute.  That answer is the USER NAME can not be changed at this time, it is too much trouble with all the other programming that they are working on.  So come up with a good short name that is easily spelled.  

The best way to fix this problem actually is a better way of giving you flexibility in all your marketing campaigns.  Get a domain name from "Go Daddy.com" or any other domain company...create a name or use your branding if your already in business and link that new domain to either your (afreething.com/yourusername) or (myfreething.com/yourusername) site. If there are new marketing sites opened up to us, you can just link your domain name to those new sites.  This will save you time and money on business card printing, with just your domain name...rather than making a new card for each site.

So if you have a problem, first contact me, and I'll see if I already have the answer. If not, we can contact Cathy.  I'm really thankful that we have direct access to the top at That Free Thing.

 It all began with an iPhone...
 March was when my son celebrated his 15th birthday
and I got him an iPhone. He just loved it. Who wouldn't?

 I celebrated my birthday in July and my wife made
me very happy when she bought me an iPad.

My daughter's birthday was in August so I got her
an iPod Touch.  

September came by so for my wife’s birthday I
bought her an iRon.  

 It was around then that the fight started . . .

What my wife failed to recognize is that the iRon
can be integrated into the home network with the iWash, iCook and iClean.

This unfortunately activated the iNag app.

Which led me to the iHospital and iGet out Thursday.

Hello... How are you?   
Welcome to the world of getting great stuff for FREE and getting paid to share it. 

If you are visiting this new blog site, it is most likely that you were invited to look at "That FREE Thing" (TFT) from someone who is already in our TFT TEAM.  A few of my friends who have joined me in referring TFT to others told me that I should "blog" what I know and what I've experienced so far, keeping a running total of all the great stuff I have already ordered and show it off when it arrives, rather than sending out long emails.  (I do have a tendency to talk to much, so will edit this to make it worthwhile.)   Also I realize that I won't make everyone happy, however, I will do my best to share what I know that can make you successful.  So this is my attempt to support all our team members in the U.S.A and soon around the world, in their quest to build their own TFT TEAMS.   

First, in my estimation, "That FREE Thing", has the largest potential for growth that I have ever witnessed in over three (3) decades of Network Marketing.  Why do I believe this?  I'll answer that by asking you two questions:    
1. Who do you know that likes to get free stuff?  
2. Who do you know who would like getting paid to give away free stuff?  
 
Well, my answer to both of these questions was almost EVERYONE I know.

Once you see the value of the FREE things that TFT is gathering for us in one place, you will realize just what a great deal this is!  In just the last 19 days since I joined on 02-22-11  I have received or submitted for products and services valued at over $200 which is a lot more than the $25 membership enrollment for the first month. (Then its only $9.95 a month after your enrollment.)   

We can even show you an offer from a foreign car manufacturer that will actually pay you $25  to test drive one of their new 2011 cars, if you do this before March 31st.  (You must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license to take advantage of this great offer.)  And let me tell you, that car's 200hp / 4 cylinder engine is very snappy and is quite fun to drive! 

You might be wondering, "How am I going to introduce TFT to others?"
It helps to remember this anagram:    K.I.S.S. =  Keep It Super Simple 

I just ask people: "Do you like to get free stuff ?" 
Most people say, "Yes, Sure, I do."  or some other affirmative response.  
"Do you know anyone who would like to get paid enjoying free stuff ?
Then I either ask them for their email so I can send them my website, or hand them a card that I made with my free thing website on it.  You won't have to explain everything, just use the many TOOLS that TFT has already developed to help you share this with others. 
Don't try to recreate the wheel.  It is not your job to explain TFT.  Your job is just to invite others to look at this using the tools.

I'm not a youngster when it comes to networking, been working at it since 1980, when our first son was born...and my wife and I heard about Amway, thought we could make some extra money to help with the bills.  Well, it wasn't as easy as those "friendly Amway" people told us, but the concept of leveraging your time by helping other people get what they wanted so you could eventually gain what you want, made some sense to me.  What I've learned in the last 31 years of actually marketing various products and services have taught me some very important lessons.  

Here's two for this early morning: March 13, 2011
  

#1  You must never, never, never give up!

It is no sin to get knocked down, it is wrong to stay down.  

#2  One of my wisest friends and mentors, Tony Lin, from Taiwan, told me a most important truth about Networking.  "Randall, for any company to succeed long term, it must have a service or product that people enjoy so much that they  would use that product or service, whether you could make any money in the business or not.  The product must be valuable enough to lead the business, not the money. If the service is good, the money will take care of itself!"

In the 15 years that followed his sharing this very wise observation with me, I have seen a whole  lot of companies come and go!  So far, what I've seen about  the leadership and owners of "That FREE Thing" meet Tony's business requirements to the "T"!    I have spent time with one of the owners on the phone and worked with him before, and he is an honest man with a good heart.  I will go into detail in my next TFT Blogger post.

I really believe that if you will just listen to the big picture of where the leaders are wanting to take That FREE Thing...(which is available on the March 9th Webinar recorded on the main company page: www.thatfreething.com ) Just go down to the bottom of this page and watch Matt G's demonstration of one of the many valuable tools that you can use for marketing any other Network Marketing you may be currently working, for the low price of $9.95 a month, you will never want to leave this.  It will only get better than it is now.   

 So go back to the website of the person who invited you to see how you can get valuable free stuff and get paid,  and simply look through the tools to get a feel for this.  Write down your questions and get back to them.  Hopefully, we will be talking again real soon. 

Okay, I'm headed to bed, I get so excited about this, I can hardly sleep! ha!  It is now 5:39 AM, as Day Light Savings Time began this morning at 2 AM so I lost an hour...but I can sleep in a bit tomorrow.   Hopefully I won't have re-edit this one more time. ha!
